VERBOS
To play
/ jugar
I play
You play
He / She / It plays
We play
You play
They play
|
Yo juego
Tú juegas
Él / Ella, Ello juega
Nosotros jugamos

INFINITIVO
|
PASADO
|
PARTICIPIO
|
To play / jugar
|
played / jugué, jugaba
|
played / jugado
|
memoria.

|
PARTICIPIO
|
forget / olvidar
|
Forgot / olvidé, olvidaba
|
forgotten / olvidado

LOS VERBOS AUXILIARES
Son los
siguientes:
Auxiliary Verbs
To be
/ Ser, estar
To have
/ Haber, tener
To
do / Hacer.
negación añadiendo 'not' a la forma afirmativa:
I am / Yo soy 0I am not / Yo no soy
b) La
I
am / Yo soy 0am
I? / ¿Soy yo?
c) Admiten la
forma contraída
I am = I'm
I do not = I don't
Funciones
tiempo pasado simple.
Do you play? / ¿Juegas?
Did you play? / ¿Jugaste?
forma con el verbo 'to be'
Will you play? / ¿Jugarás?
Are you playing? / ¿Estás jugando?
b) Construcción de la forma negativa
La estructura
de la forma negativa es 'auxiliar' + 'not'
I do not play / Yo no juego
We will not play / No jugaremos
They are not playing / No están jugando
c) Respuestas cortas
Do
you play? - Yes, I do / ¿Juegas? - Sí,
juego
d) Preguntas coletilla.
Equivalen a
You are rich, are you not?
You are not rich, are you? / Usted no es rico, ¿verdad? (¿lo es?)
e) Forman ciertos tiempos de futuro ('will', 'shall'), pasado ('did') etc.
He
will play / Él jugará
f) Reemplazan a otro verbo, evitando su repetición
John didn't go an d neither did I / John no fue y yo tampoco.
MODAL AUXILIARY VERBS
Can, could - Para hablar sobre la posibilidad y capacidad, pedir y dar permiso,
pedir y ofrecer cosas.

Must

oraciones interrogativas.
Ej: I'm waiting
for you,
Who are
you waiting for?
Ej: who
let out the cat?
Ej: come down with.

LOS PHRASAL
VERBS (VERBOS FRASALES)
find out = discover = descubrir

a) preposicional:
|
He lives down
the street
|
b) adverbial:
|
I lived down
that incident.

a)

verbo adverbial.
Prepositional:
What did
he look up?
He looked
up over the window
Adverbial:
What did
he look up?
He looked
up the word o he looked the word up.
Muchas preposiciones aparecen
también como partículas adverbiales (ejemplo anterior: up) aunque algunas
partículas adverbiales no aparecen como preposiciones (ejemplo: away, back,
y out).
Cheer
(somebody) up: animar a alguien.
She sent
him a funny card to cheer him up.
Si el objeto directo es un
sustantivo, la partícula podría ir colocada antes o después.
Look
(something) up: consultar algo -en un libro-
He looked
up the word
He looked the word up
Try
(something) on: probarse.
Why don't
you try on the blue dress that we saw yesterday?
INTRANSITIVOS (VERBO ADVERBIAL SIN
COMPLEMENTO):
En estos la partícula va colocada
inmediatamente después del verbo.
Ejemplo:
Break
down: estropearse, averiarse.
The
machine has broken down
Verbos preposicionales
(prepositional verbs):
I agree with you
She was listening
to the radio
I'm
looking after my son.
